Purpose & Mission

We believe that there is much more to life than punching in and out of work to pay your bills. We believe that what you do in your professional career should wield impact, positively affect others, and make a difference, no matter how small it may seem. Doing so has been ingrained in the DNA of Hypha's founders since the early days of their more than two-decades-long collaboration, and remains at the heart of our business model—encapsulated in our longtime philosophy of "Grow For Good," and embodied in the many projects and initiatives we've launched to inject even a tiny bit of light, hope, and love into this oftentimes incredibly dark realm. Below are a handful of these, along with several clients who've also striven to make things a little better through their products and services.

Our talented and passionate team of HubSpot platform architects, inbound marketing content engineers, digital design artists, writers, integration specialists, and strategists help mission-oriented companies succeed, and grow. We do so by leveraging the dynamic marketing and sales platform HubSpot to achieve sustainable growth through thoughtful, innovative, and effective solutions.

We build beautiful and highly functional websites and digital assets. We create truly exceptional content. Our consultative approach to business development and client retention makes us a trusted advisor and partner to an ever-expanding roster of businesses spanning a diverse array of industries—from fintech and finance to cybersecurity, renewable energy, sustainable packaging, anti-racism and climate justice education, and many more.

Just as our namesake hyphae provide vital nutrients and minerals to the root systems of vast forests, so too do we supply lifeblood services to extraordinary businesses who individually and collectively create positive change.

At the core of all this is our longstanding guiding philosophy.

Grow For Good

It’s our motto, the name of one of our podcasts, and encapsulates who we are as an organization. It is the driving force behind everything we do.

We believe that companies can be profitable and wield a positive impact. The two are not mutually exclusive. Whether producing eco-friendly goods, implementing environmentally conscious business practices, reinvesting revenue into philanthropic causes, instituting DEI hiring practices, ensuring website accessibility to those with disabilities, or creating incentives for employee volunteerism—there are myriad ways to do so

We are committed to partnering with clients who share these values and prioritize meaningful social impact through the products they sell and services they provide. Making the world a better place may not be a typical offering or prerequisite of a traditional marketing agency, but we state it here because it truly matters to us

Testament to this is our award-winning social justice podcast News Beat, our podcast Grow For Good highlighting mission-driven companies helping to improve the world, our founding partnership with service directory and digital inclusion resource nexus InclusionHub, and our current journey to achieving B Corp certification

InclusionHub

InclusionHub is an online, crowd-sourced database and directory of businesses and services committed to helping improve digital inclusion and accessibility. A community-driven resource, users recommend and review companies, platforms, apps, and other tools that enhance the online experience for those with disabilities and other marginalized groups.

Hypha content engineers collaborate with fellow Founding Partners Salesforce, Fable, and Be My Eyes to highlight important issues within this space, raise awareness, and help make improvements. They conduct interviews with those directly affected, profile innovative companies, and publish these as posts on the InclusionHub site—further spreading the word about leaders and businesses who are helping to make the internet more accessible.

Hypha joined forces with Fable and its accessibility evangelist Sam Proulx to launch 'The InclusionHub Podcast,' featuring a diverse list of guests spanning the disability rights movement and ongoing mission of improving accessibility, for all. The late, internationally recognized human rights advocate Judith Heumann was among these.

InclusionHub is much more than a website and online resource. It is a community of like-minded people and businesses striving to make the web—and world—a better, more inclusive place!

Delaware’s leading and largest solar panel installer, its highly trained team of solar experts handle everything from planning and design to installation and finalizing the documentation for significant state and federal tax incentives.

This eco-friendly company reduces fossil fuel incineration, thereby fighting pollution, harmful greenhouse gases, and global warming and climate change—helping ensure cleaner air and a brighter tomorrow for future generations.

Reconciliation Education

In 2008, the Canadian prime minister issued a formal apology on behalf of the government for its residential school system, which for more than 100 years, contributed to the mass indoctrination of more than 150,000 Indigenous children. In 2015, an official Truth and Reconciliation Commission published its findings that the program amounted to “cultural genocide,” and put forth 94 calls to action to assist in a national healing process.

Reconciliation Education has created critical tools to help in this mission. Its ready-to-use unit for online and in-classroom learning, titled ‘4 Seasons of Reconciliation,’ includes a comprehensive step-by-step teacher’s guide and professional development portal to assist educators in teaching students about this dark period in Canada’s history—spreading awareness and tolerance of its many Indigenous peoples and their cultures.

These bilingual online resources promote a renewed relationship with Indigenous peoples and Canadians, through transformative and engaging anti-racism learning.

Salesforce

Headquartered in San Francisco, Salesforce is one of the world’s leading customer relationship management (CRM) platforms, seamlessly integrating companies’ marketing, sales, commerce, service, and IT teams across a diverse spectrum of industries spanning the globe.

The company is also serious about improving DEI and digital accessibility, joining forces with Hypha as a client, and with InclusionHub as a Founding Partner. It has set significant milestones and ambitious objectives along the road to creating a culture of Equality for all—whether that’s championing racial equality and justice or diversifying its team. Among these, Salesforce aims to have 50 percent of its U.S. workforce composed of underrepresented groups by 2023.

To reach its goals and accelerate its progress, Salesforce has launched multiple new initiatives and expanded its existing programs to foster and support access, retention, belonging, and fairness at every stage of the employee journey.
