On this episode of 'Inbound & Down,' co-hosts Jon Sasala and Danielle Esposito discuss how content mission statements can improve your company's content, and we celebrate our 50th Episode!

Three months later...

And we're still talking about Justin Champion's 'Trailblazing Your Client's Content Marketing Strategy' webinar. The principal content "professor" at HubSpot Academy, Justin introduced some amazing new concepts that we've put into place here at Morey Creative Studios, one of them being content mission statements.

A content mission statement's purpose is to declare exactly what your content is intended to provide so you avoid wasting resources on content not aligned with your goals.

As a creator, this enables you to boil down your process and say, "I’m not producing content because I want people to buy my product. I’m producing content because I want readers to understand this." A template was created to help ensure the process of creating your statement is simple and straightforward.

The Template

We market/sell [insert your product/service]. However, when it comes to our content strategy it’s not about marketing/selling [insert your product/service], it’s about the idea that everyone should know [insert thought leadership knowledge relevant to your product/service].

Your shiny new content mission statement will help make sure every piece of content reflects your overall business mission statement, too.

To learn more about how we applied this process to create a mission statement for a client, explore the following piece covering Justin's webinar more in depth:
